Thanksgiving Day!

Going to go to church and then be with my family. Along with writing prayers, articles, books, and being a motivational speaker, I am fortunate to be able to take care of my mom. She is 97 and the Doctor thought her heart wouldn't last this long. Each day is a blessing to have her. Much to be grateful for this year- two new books, start of a new company, and possibly being a regular guest on a local television show. The producers haven't gotten back to me yet. I guess I should tell you a little about me. I have worked with children and adults who were profoundly retarded, and worked over twenty-five years with adults with severe mental illness. They taught me much about spiritual wisdom, perseverance and courage. I have much to be joyful for. You see - as a child I was sexually abused four times and almost killed by two teen-agers.At some point the feelings I had safely tucked deep inside had to come out and I had a very difficult time. I received very good counseling and was baptised and I am fully recovered and have forgiven the people who abused me. Of course I don't condone what they did or forget it- BUT I don't re-live it every day and I have a full and wonderful life. Of course I have the usual challenges we all have- but generally I am just so glad to be alive and without emotional pain. Yea!!!

I am Starting a New Company!

I am so excited! I am starting a new company called Voice of Joy! I will be providing motivational presentations to churches, conferences, workshops, retreats, etc. I will also provide spiritual retreats. I have facilitated retreats and presentations in the past, but now I will have a company. Yea!! I already have six places which are considering me for their group. My presentations focus on the goodness within us, others, and creation. I also provide practical solutions for dealing with stress and challenges. I gear my presentation to the group but I usually use some lecture, sharing, music, simple dance movements, and prayer(if it's a Christian presentation).If you know of a group near Sacramento California that might find my presentations helpful pleaase let me know. For now I want to keep it close to home because I am taking care of my mom who is 97. I don't want to be too far away from her. I will. be updating my log each week- so come on by!!!
